pattugliano ormai solo a piedi, al massimo in bicicletta,
poiche' non ci sono piu' soldi per la benzina. La stampa locale
riferisce che nel primo trimestre di quest'anno se ne e' gia'
andato il 43% del budget annuale di 2,8 milioni di euro a
disposizione della polizia cittadina. Solo a gennaio e febbraio
e' stato speso oltre un milione di euro per riparare le auto
coinvolte in 158 incidenti stradali, causati tutti dagli agenti
che erano alla guida. "Non sappiamo ancora da che dipende", ha
spiegato il presidente della polizia di Karlsruhe, Hildegard
Gerecke, che ha promesso di fare "luce sulla vicenda". Nel
frattempo, pero', agli agenti e' stato raccomandato di
pattugliare a piedi, per non sfondare il budget a disposizione,
appesantito anche dai forti rincari del prezzo della benzina.
"A Karlsruhe i colleghi escono solo in caso di chiamata per
furti in appartamenti", ha spiegato Ruediger Seidenspinner,
